Famous In My Father’s Eyes

Spent today in a conversation. In the mirror face to face with somebody less than perfect. I wouldn’t choose me first if I was looking for a champion. In fact, I’d understand if you picked everyone before me but that’s just not my story. True to who you are you saw my heart and made something out of nothing. I don’t need my name in lights. I’m famous in my Father’s eyes.

You may have heard these lyrics from the song “Famous in my Father’s eyes” by Francesca Battistelli.

His works are amazing!

As I was speaking today I was trying to think of this exact song yet it was not coming to mind. Well as the day went by and I got in my car, this exact song was playing on the radio. As I began to drive, the DJ started to talk about how God knows us by name and every hidden part in us. This was along the same lines of the message He laid on my heart as I spoke this morning. Oh, how He works. It’s amazing to see His hand.

Therefore, I figured I would add a blog post to the collection of His great similarities of a message that came into design today from His hands.

You are famous in His eyes

Sometimes it’s easy to fall into trying to be perfect or be what everyone else wants you to be or even just what you think you need to be. You may feel that what you are currently doing in your life is not your purpose or is in vain.

Well, I got news for you. He has a purpose for you and whether you are making a million bucks as a high paid well-known celebrity or maybe make minimum wage as a cashier in a fast-food chain, you are famous in His eyes.

Rich and fame according to the world says you need to have a lot of money, a large following, and be well-known across the country to be worth anything.

You’ve maybe found yourself working overtime to match the amount in your friend’s bank account or spend a ton of money on diet pills to have a slim shape like the tabloids advertise. But in the end, God doesn’t care about any of that. The only thing He cares about is YOU. And He cares that you want to be somebody. And He wants you to know that You are somebody. You are created in His image.

He knows your name

As the song continues, Make no mistake. He knows my name. I’m not living for applause. I’m already so adored. It’s all His stage. He knows my name. Hold up! Did you hear that? Let me say it a little louder.

HE KNOWS YOUR NAME!!!

Yes, He does.

You play a special part

Do you believe this? Maybe you’ve been told your entire life that you are nobody and you have begun to believe it. Or you have compared yourself to someone else and saw yourself as not good enough.

The truth is, this is His stage. There are no auditions in search of the best one to play the part. There is a part for everyone. Each and ever one of you is unique in your own way and God has a special part for you to play in his grand ole’ plan. You are famous in His eyes.

Believe it!

Wherever you are right now. Do you believe you’re famous in His eyes?

The world may tell you that you have to be popular by the standards of making money or being financially rich or even having a lot of followers but the truth is that you're famous in His eyes.

  1. How awesome is His love for us! I needed to hear this again as I struggle with “worth” and my circumstances frequently…thank you for reminding me of His love for me!

    1. Amen! Thank you Nicki for sharing this. I constantly struggle with being at war with my flesh and spirit and have to realize that I am Famous in my Father’s eyes even if the world doesn’t approve of me.

  2. The whole time I read this, I thought of that part in Psalms 139, “Your works are wonderful, how I know that full well.” Ever hear of that quote from a mother to her child saying that “you’re the only one who knows what my heart sounds like from the inside”? Or something like that. His works are wonderful, I have a front row seat to that fact. In fact, I’m living proof of it! His plan and purpose for my life are perfect and satisfying.
Thanks so much for this post! Love that song!

  4. Lorin this post is beautiful. I’m so glad you highlighted this song in a post-it’s one of my many favorite Christian songs. We are ALL SO important to Him! It’s difficult to believe He knows us by name, our every thought, our every fear but that’s where faith comes in 🙂 Sharing this everywhere!
