You wake up in the morning and your daughter has peed their bed. You have now started off your morning with a nice to-do list you don’t even need to write.
So you give your daughter a bath and get her dressed, make her breakfast, start a load of peed-on laundry, have to now steam clean the floor and mattress, and haven’t even had a sip of your morning coffee. Wow! How do you do it?
You must be superwoman. Wait! Maybe not. The heat turns up, even more, when…
You’re husband then asks you if you’ve seen his car keys, you’re freshly bathed four-year-old spills milk all over her outfit, the dog is scratching at the back door to go outside (you don’t want to clean up any more messes so you quickly open the door), and your husband is still asking you where his keys are. Do you have a second to help me find them because I’m going to be late to work, he asks? Ha, a second, what’s that, you think to yourself?
You change your daughter’s outfit and she’s off to play with her toys. You find your husband’s keys in the fridge door, and you let the dog back inside. All completed with not even one sip of coffee.
Again, how do you do it? Continue reading “Through His Strength Not My Own”
As I splurged all of my anger out tonight I shared with my mom how frustrated I was that there are non-believers who have a lot of money and myself who is doing well for his kingdom is amounting to nothing.
I’m just going to be real with you, I have always had a love for money. I have also walked down many dark places because of it. Places that no one’s daughter should ever walk down.
The love of money led me down a dark road
I have made a lot of money real fast and have also lost money in the blink of an eye. Many times I have chosen money over my only family and at times I gave it away although it was tough.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 1 Timothy 6:10
Money has been an ever-consuming stronghold in my life that has caused me to miss out on so much more that is of the utmost value. And truth be told, money is NOT it! Continue reading “You Cannot Serve Both God And Money”
We’ve all been there. Humble beginnings. You have a dream and all of a sudden you find yourself doing everything possible to make it happen. You may even start getting the idea that it needs to happen now.
A week goes by and you’re highly disappointed that you are further than ever from that dream you once had.
But are you really that far?
What if God has you in the exact place you need to be. You’re in a season of searching for answers and looking for ways to get one step closer to reaching your goals. Along the way, you may not even realize how much you are accomplishing in the meantime. Continue reading “Humble Beginnings: Making It Happen Over Night”
I know something is missing! My purpose seems incomplete. I can’t move forward as I need your direction. When I am not with you I realize I need to be.
I have decided to take my own route. To make my plans and watch them play out. But why does nothing seem to work out as planned?
In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. Proverbs 16:9
And how much more obvious could this be? Continue reading “When I’m Not With You I Need To Be”
There was a rich man that was asking Jesus what He had to do to have eternal life and Jesus proceeded to name off of these commandments. The young man says,
“All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?” Jesus answered if you want to be perfect , go, sell your possessions and give to the poor , and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” Matthew 19:20-21
Jesus asks the rich man to sell his possessions
I have to do what Jesus? I’ve asked this question as this is a big stronghold I deal with. The young rich man went away sad and to be honest I feel like that young rich man who doesn’t want to give away his possessions. God said you cannot serve both God and money. And even as a Christian I have been so upfront with God and told Him I am feeling.
Lord, I am sharing your Word with people and glorifying your name, what else do you want from me? I’m a Christian why are the people of this world who aren’t even following you receiving so much blessing in their life. Why are you asking me to do these things? I know you were hoping for a dozen roses and a heart-shaped box of chocolates but just know you have someone who can give you a Valentine’s Day gift more valuable than those 2,000 calories. Continue reading “The Best Valentine’s Day Gift You Can Receive (Even For Singles)”
Spent today in a conversation. In the mirror face to face with somebody less than perfect. I wouldn’t choose me first if I was looking for a champion. In fact, I’d understand if you picked everyone before me but that’s just not my story. True to who you are you saw my heart and made something out of nothing. I don’t need my name in lights. I’m famous in my Father’s eyes.
You may have heard these lyrics from the song “Famous in my Father’s eyes” by Francesca Battistelli.
His works are amazing!

The only one who can be the best you is YOU! And you’re surprised.
Day after day you find yourself checking out your neighbor, comparing yourself to their neverending Pinterest Perfect lives as I call it.
The long list of questions you ask yourself are as follows:
Why can’t I do that?
Why can they do that?
Why not me?
The list of questions all begin with WHY?
Why? You ask.
Because the focus is on comparisons. Weighing your accomplishments based on those of others. To their standards.
The only one you should be comparing yourself to is you.
You are good enough.
You are the best you that only you can be.
Nobody else can be you. We can pretend to be others. Come off faking who we really are. But if you want to be the best you then you need to start finding out about you. Continue reading “The One Who Can Be The Best You”
For the last 20 years, I have been journaling. It has been an adventure journaling for my marriage, children, heart, and God’s strength. It has taught me a myriad of things about myself. Things I wanted to know and things I could do without. I’ve found peace in times of chaos. I have found a breath of fresh air where darkness wanted to creep in. At times, when I felt I couldn’t go another day, it reminded me He (My Lord) was there. Journaling kept me in a daily conversation, where God was continuously MY King, MY Savior, MY Healer, and Joy.
Journaling provided me comfort when trials seemed like impossible mountains to climb. He provided me peace when my body was ill with cancer or in pain (did I mention years of pain). It filled me with love when I sought to be loved in the world and by the world. I choose Him through journaling each and every time. I choose to seek His joy and smile my way through His divine plan for my life. How could I not, He does not create mess!
I was and am His masterpiece and He showed me all of this through meeting Him as much as possible with pen and paper through the pain.

Do you ever feel like your the only one who understands you?
God Himself understands you. He sent His Son Jesus and went through the pain and suffering you may be facing in your own life.
Sometimes I find myself in prayer expressing my anger that He is not listening. That He doesn’t care about me. And today I realized that I am not alone. He understands. He has not abandoned me.
When God sent Jesus, God Himself, to restore salvation to all the earth He came as human flesh. Not only did He experience pain and suffering but He also experienced the need to be obedient. In his struggles, He did not sin.
Created you in His likeness
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27
If He created you in His likeness than how much more do you think He understands you. He knows how many hairs you have on your head and formed you in your mother’s womb.
We are heirs. Worth far more than rubies. We are not dead but alive in Christ.
Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Luke 12:7
