The One Who Understands You
Do you ever feel like your the only one who understands you?
God Himself understands you. He sent His Son Jesus and went through the pain and suffering you may be facing in your own life.
Sometimes I find myself in prayer expressing my anger that He is not listening. That He doesn’t care about me. And today I realized that I am not alone. He understands. He has not abandoned me.
When God sent Jesus, God Himself, to restore salvation to all the earth He came as human flesh. Not only did He experience pain and suffering but He also experienced the need to be obedient. In his struggles, He did not sin.
Created you in His likeness
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27
If He created you in His likeness than how much more do you think He understands you. He knows how many hairs you have on your head and formed you in your mother’s womb.
We are heirs. Worth far more than rubies. We are not dead but alive in Christ.
Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Luke 12:7
He understands you
Have you ever went to someone and tried to share with them how you were feeling and what you said was rejected? That person didn’t understand. Guess what! You can’t expect them to and if you do, you will find yourself being miserable and bitter towards them. People are fallible.
I got news for you! God, Himself understands you. Yes, He created others to be in community with you but not to be your savior. If that was the case we wouldn’t have needed Him to die for us on that cross.
Express how you feel
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5
I am grateful to see this. The exact obedience that Jesus held up to when He was on earth. When He was spit on He didn’t spit back but instead turned the other cheek.
Your husband is going to wrong you. Your kids are going to wrong you. Your parents are going to wrong you. People are going to wrong you at one point or another in your lifetime. And sometimes there is nothing you can do to change them. It’s their choice if they are going to understand you or not and if they don’t then it’s okay.
Go back to God. To His throne. He wants to hear from you. Remember when Jesus asked God to take His cup? It’s the same for us. We have the freedom to express our hurts to Him. To express our needs and our struggles. Whether it be our frustration with someone else or Him, He is strong enough to hear it all.
Nobody is perfect. We fail by our expectations we place on broken people just like us. On fallible people just like ourselves. Just know that you have the opportunity every day to go to Him because He understands you.
Have been feeling like nobody understands you but have experienced God’s unconditional love?
